I cannot remember a time in my life when I wasn’t painting or drawing. However,
I did not pursue a career as a professional artist. Now, as a mature person, I am
able to bring together a lifetime’s experience and a life long passion.
Growing up in Israel I was inspired primarily by European art. Later, as an adult
in Australia, I fell in love with the gum trees and Australian Modernism.
As a mostly self-taught artist, I am fascinated by colour and the dramatic
interplay of light and dark. I try to capture this interplay so that it creates an
emotion, or a mood, which the viewer can sense subliminally and interpret. My
repertoire includes portraiture, landscape, life drawing and poetic genres.
